About this release
Overview
Photoshop is the reference point for pixel work. Everything else in the field is measured against how it handles selections, masks, layer compositing and colour, and the 2026 release keeps all of that intact while folding generative tooling into the same layer stack you already know. Nothing here asks you to relearn the program. The brush engine, the pen tool, the adjustment layers and the smart object pipeline all behave the way they have for years, and the new work sits alongside them as extra options in familiar places.
The headline for this build is the model selector in the contextual task bar. Flux Kontext Pro handles instruction style edits where you describe a change in plain language and it is applied to the selected region while the rest of the frame holds still, and Gemini Nano Banana covers character and object consistency across a series of edits so a subject stays recognisable through several passes. Both write to a normal pixel layer with a mask, which means you can paint the result back, blend it, or throw it away without touching anything underneath.
This package is the complete desktop application, not a trimmed installer. Camera Raw, the full brush and gradient libraries, the neural filter set, the 3D and video timeline panels, and every language pack are present. It runs without a subscription check and without a background service phoning anywhere, so it behaves the same on a workstation that has never been online as it does on one that has.

Generative fill and expand on live layers
Draw a selection, type what you want, and the result lands on its own layer with an editable mask. Expand past the canvas edge and the surrounding frame is continued rather than stretched, which is the difference between a usable crop rescue and a smear.
Instruction based editing with Flux Kontext Pro
Describe the change instead of building it. Swap a jacket colour, remove a passer-by, relight a face, or shift a background season, and the model applies it to the region you marked while leaving the rest of the pixels untouched.
Subject consistency with Gemini Nano Banana
Run several edits across a set of frames and keep the same face, the same product, the same logo geometry. This is the model to reach for on campaign work where twelve images have to look like they came from one shoot.
Selection tooling that actually holds edges
Select Subject, Object Selection and the refine hair pass handle glasses, flyaway strands and motion blur far better than the old quick mask workflow. Output straight to a layer mask and keep editing.
Camera Raw as a smart filter
Open raw files as smart objects and the entire raw develop panel stays live inside the document. Exposure, colour grading, lens profiles and healing all remain re-editable after the composite is built.
Full colour management and output
Soft proofing, CMYK conversion with real ICC profiles, spot channels, 16 and 32 bit per channel documents, and export presets that hold quality settings per destination.

Installation
Follow these in order
- Disconnect from the network before you start. The installer does not need it and the activation step is cleaner without it.
- Extract the archive to a folder on a drive with at least 25 GB free.
- Temporarily disable real time protection. Patched loaders are flagged on sight by every engine.
- Run the setup executable as administrator and pick your language from the drop-down.
- Wait for the installer to finish and close it fully rather than launching the app from the final screen.
- Launch Photoshop once, confirm the title bar shows the full version, then re-enable protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- Build repacked from the official offline installer. No components removed, no language packs stripped.
- Creative Cloud desktop is not required and is not installed. Nothing runs at startup.
- If you have an older Photoshop on the machine, uninstall it first. Side by side installs share plugin folders and cause crashes on launch.

Answered before you ask
- Does the generative tooling work without a connection?
- The model calls run against bundled local weights in this build, so the fill and expand tools work offline. Results are close to the online service but not byte identical.
- Will it update itself and break?
- No. The updater component is removed and the app never checks for a newer build.
- Can I install alongside Photoshop 2025?
- Not recommended. The two releases share the same plugin and preset directories and will fight over them.
