Adobe Premiere Pro 2026
Version 26.3.0.93 · Adobe Inc. · Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) · ranked #2 in the library
A timeline editor that holds up under a real delivery schedule, with native handling for the codecs coming off modern cameras and a round trip to the rest of the suite that does not involve rendering anything out first.

About this release
Overview
Premiere Pro is a non-linear editor built for long form and short form work in the same interface. The source and program monitors, the track based timeline, the project panel with bins and search, and the keyboard driven trim tools are all where an editor coming from any other package expects them to be. What separates it in practice is codec coverage: footage from Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Blackmagic, RED, ARRI and every phone in circulation drops onto the timeline and plays without transcoding first.
The 2026 release leans hard on text. The transcript panel produces a speech to text pass on ingest, and you edit the sequence by deleting sentences out of that transcript. Filler word detection finds every um and uh in a talking head and strips them in a pass, which turns a two hour interview cut down into an afternoon rather than a week. Caption styling is a proper graphics workflow now, with track styles that apply across every caption at once.
Colour, audio and graphics all live in the same file. Lumetri gives you curves, wheels, HSL qualifiers and scopes without leaving the timeline, the Essential Sound panel does loudness matching and dialogue clean-up to broadcast targets, and the Essential Graphics panel handles titles, shapes and motion with responsive design rules that keep a lower third readable at any frame size.
What it does
Feature breakdown
Text based editing
Cut from a transcript. Select a paragraph, delete it, and the sequence updates with the matching clips removed. Works on multicam and on synced double system audio.
Native codec support
H.264, H.265, ProRes, DNxHD, RED R3D, ARRIRAW, Blackmagic RAW, Sony XAVC and Canon Cinema RAW Light all edit natively. Proxies are optional rather than mandatory.
Lumetri colour with real scopes
Waveform, vectorscope, parade and histogram alongside primary and secondary correction, LUT support, and comparison view for shot matching across a scene.
Essential Sound and loudness targets
Dialogue, music, SFX and ambience classification with one click repair for hum, reverb and clipping, plus automatic ducking and delivery loudness presets.
Multicam with unlimited angles
Sync by timecode, audio waveform or marker, then cut live in the program monitor. Angle switches remain editable afterwards as ordinary cuts.
Dynamic Link to After Effects
Send a clip to a composition and see the composited result on the timeline without an intermediate render. Changes propagate as you make them.
Changed in this build
Version 26.3.0.93
- Filler word detection extended to eleven additional languages in the transcript panel.
- Media caching rebuilt, cutting first-play stutter on long H.265 clips from mirrorless bodies.
- Properties panel consolidated so clip, effect and graphics parameters share one location.
- Colour management defaults switched to a per-sequence working space with automatic tone mapping for HDR sources.
- Export queue now runs a second job while the first encodes on machines with hardware encoders.
Installation
Follow these in order
- Take the machine off the network before running setup.
- Extract the archive somewhere with plenty of headroom, an installer of this size needs room to unpack.
- Pause real time protection for the duration of the install.
- Run setup as administrator and choose the languages you want installed.
- Let the installer complete and close it rather than launching from the finish screen.
- Open Premiere once, set your scratch disks in preferences, then restore protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- Media Encoder is bundled inside this installer and is required for queue based exports.
- The included build has the sign-in prompt removed. It never asks for an account.
- GPU acceleration defaults to whatever is present. If playback stutters, switch the renderer to software once and back again to force redetection.

Questions about this release
Answered before you ask
- Do I need After Effects for Dynamic Link?
- Only if you want to send clips there. Premiere works fully on its own without it installed.
- Does it open projects from older versions?
- Yes, and it converts them on open. It writes a copy so the original project file stays untouched.
- Is hardware encoding included?
- Yes. NVENC, Quick Sync and AMF are all enabled in the export presets where the hardware supports them.
