A download manager with no cost attached and no advertising in it, splitting files across connections, handling torrents in the same queue, and scheduling the heavy transfers for overnight.

About this release
Overview
Free Download Manager does the same job as the paid accelerators without the licensing. Files are split into segments fetched over parallel connections and rejoined at the end, interrupted transfers resume from where they stopped, and the browser hands links off through an extension so clicking a download starts it in the manager rather than the browser.
Torrents are handled in the same application and the same queue, which is unusual and convenient. Magnet links and torrent files sit alongside direct downloads with shared bandwidth limits, so you set one overall cap and everything respects it rather than three programs competing for the line. Video from web pages is detected and offered at whatever renditions the page exposes.
The management layer is straightforward and complete. Scheduling by time of day with separate speed limits for working and quiet hours, automatic sorting of finished files into folders by type, a queue with priorities, checksum verification, and a preview capability that lets you check a partially downloaded media file before committing to the rest. It is quiet software that does its job and stays out of the way.
What it does
Feature breakdown
Segmented parallel downloading
Each file fetched over several simultaneous connections and reassembled, with reliable resume after interruption or a restart.
Torrents in the same queue
Magnet links and torrent files handled by the same application under shared bandwidth limits, so one program covers both transfer types.
Browser integration
An extension for the major browsers hands downloads and page media to the manager, with batch selection of multiple links from one page.
Scheduling and traffic limits
Different speed limits by time of day, a queue that starts and stops on schedule, and an action to run when the queue empties.
Automatic organisation
Finished files sorted into folders by type, with configurable rules and per-category default destinations.
Preview and verification
Check a partially downloaded media file before it finishes, and verify completed files against a published checksum.

Release notes
From whoever packed it
- This is genuinely free software with no paid tier, so nothing here is patched or modified.
- Very high connection counts can trigger throttling on some servers. Eight to sixteen is the useful range.
- The torrent side respects the same global limits as direct downloads, so set the cap once rather than per transfer.
