About this release
Overview
This is a reduced build of the current professional system aimed at machines that would technically run it but not comfortably. The bundled store applications, the heavier optional components and a set of background services have been removed to bring the memory use and the disk footprint down, so a low end or aging computer gets the current interface and the current security baseline without the weight that makes the stock install sluggish on that class of hardware.
It solves two problems at once for an older machine. The stock installer refuses to continue without a supported security module, secure boot and an approved processor, which rules out a great deal of hardware that runs the system perfectly well, and those checks are bypassed here so the install proceeds. And the lite trimming means that once it is on, it actually feels responsive rather than merely bootable on a machine with limited memory and a slow disk.
As with any lite build the trade is deliberate: components removed to make it small are not there to be enabled later, so it suits a machine with a defined purpose rather than a do everything computer. It keeps the desktop, the core system, driver support and the essential settings, is preactivated, and boots on both firmware types. This is an English build.

Installation
Follow these in order
- Back up the target machine first. A clean install erases the system drive.
- Write the ISO to a USB stick of 8 GB or larger.
- Boot from the stick through the firmware boot menu.
- Choose custom install and select the target partition.
- Delete the old partitions for the smallest footprint, then continue.
- Complete setup, choosing the offline account option.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- This is a fixed purpose build. Removed components cannot simply be added back later.
- A future feature upgrade may reintroduce the hardware checks. Defer feature updates on unsupported hardware.
- Verify the checksum before writing. A bad download fails partway through setup.
