About this release
Overview
Audition splits into two halves that share the same file. The waveform editor works on a single clip destructively with a full effects rack and a history list, and the multitrack editor assembles clips on a timeline with buses, sends and non destructive processing. Dialogue post, podcast assembly, sound design and music mixing all sit somewhere across those two views, and moving a clip between them is a double click.
The spectral frequency display is what people install it for. Instead of a waveform you get frequency against time, and a cough, a chair creak, a phone buzz or a single hum harmonic is visible as a shape you can lasso and delete while the dialogue underneath continues untouched. Combined with the sound remover, which learns a noise print from a selection, it recovers location audio that would otherwise mean a reshoot.
The rest is a complete post environment. Loudness normalisation to broadcast targets with a report, batch processing across a folder, speech volume levelling, de-reverb and de-noise as real time effects rather than offline passes, essential sound with role based presets, and a full restoration chain including click, crackle and clip repair. It round trips with the video editor so a corrected mix returns to the timeline without an export in between.

Spectral frequency display
See audio as frequency against time, select an offending sound with a lasso or brush and remove it while everything around it stays intact.
Sound remover and noise reduction
Capture a noise print from a quiet section and subtract it across the whole file, with adjustable reduction so you can stop before the artefacts start.
Multitrack session mixing
Unlimited tracks with buses, sends, submixes, automation lanes and non destructive clip effects, all recallable in the saved session.
Essential Sound panel
Assign a clip a role of dialogue, music, effects or ambience and get the relevant processing chain, with one click repair and automatic ducking.
Loudness normalisation and reporting
Match a mix to a delivery target and produce a measurement report, in batch across a whole folder of files if needed.
Restoration toolset
De-reverb, de-noise, click and crackle removal, clip repair and adaptive noise reduction, available as real time effects rather than offline only.

Installation
Follow these in order
- Disconnect from the network before starting.
- Extract the archive to a local drive.
- Suspend real time protection for the install.
- Run setup as administrator and select your languages.
- Let the installer finish and close it rather than launching from the final screen.
- Open Audition once, set the audio hardware and temporary folder in preferences, then restore protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- Set the audio device to your interface driver on first launch. The default system device adds latency that makes recording unusable.
- The temporary folder defaults to the system drive. Move it to a fast dedicated disk before working on long sessions.
- Third party plugins from a previous install are not carried over, rescan the plugin folder after installing.

- Yes, and it converts on open while leaving the original session file alone.

- It mixes and masters music perfectly well, but it has no step sequencer or virtual instrument hosting focus. It is built for post.
