Microsoft Office 2016 / 2019 / 2021 Professional Plus
Version 16.0.14332.20481 · Microsoft Corporation · Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 (32-bit and 64-bit) · ranked #43 in the library
Three generations of the perpetual suite in one archive, with the generation chosen at setup so the same download covers a new workstation and the old machine in the back office.
Read the installation section below before you start. The order of the steps matters on this release.
About this release
Overview
This package exists for anyone maintaining more than one machine. Rather than tracking down a separate installer for each generation, the archive carries all three and the setup front end asks which one you want before it begins. On a current workstation you pick the newest, on a machine still running an older system you pick the oldest, and the process from there is identical in both cases.
The differences between the generations are worth knowing before you choose. The oldest installs on the widest range of systems and has the smallest footprint. The middle release adds the newer chart types and a refreshed interface while keeping the same system requirements as a practical matter. The newest brings dynamic arrays and the modern lookup functions to Excel, which for anyone building spreadsheets is the single biggest reason to prefer it.
Every generation in the archive is the professional line-up, so Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Publisher and OneNote are available in all three. Both architectures are present for each, the application selection screen works the same regardless of which generation you picked, and every interface and proofing language is bundled rather than downloaded separately during setup.
What it does
Feature breakdown
Three generations in one archive
Choose the release at setup rather than hunting down a separate download for each machine you have to build.
Full professional line-up throughout
Access and Publisher included alongside the four core applications in every generation the archive covers.
Both architectures for each release
32-bit and 64-bit builds available for all three generations, selected at the same screen as the generation itself.
Application level selection
Install only what you need. The customise screen behaves identically across the three generations.
Complete language set
Interface and proofing languages bundled for every generation rather than fetched during setup.
Activation handled during setup
The licensing step runs as part of the install regardless of which generation you chose, with no separate tool to run afterwards.
Changed in this build
Version 16.0.14332.20481
- Setup front end rewritten so the generation, architecture and application selection happen on one screen.
- Shared components deduplicated across the three generations, cutting the archive size considerably.
- Servicing updates integrated for each generation so a fresh install starts close to current.
- Removal routine added for cleaning out a previous suite before the chosen generation installs.
- Fixed a case where the language selection was ignored when installing the oldest generation.
Installation
Follow these in order
- Remove any existing office suite first, including subscription leftovers, using the removal routine in the archive if needed.
- Disconnect from the network.
- Extract the whole archive, the front end expects the folder structure intact.
- Disable real time protection.
- Run the setup front end as administrator and choose the generation, architecture, applications and languages.
- Open one application, confirm the account page reports an activated product, then restore protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- Only one generation can be installed at a time. Installing a second over the first replaces it rather than adding to it.
- Do not mix architectures across generations either, the restriction applies to the machine as a whole.
- Leave feature updates off after installing. A servicing update resets the activation state on any of the three.

Questions about this release
Answered before you ask
- Which generation should I choose?
- The newest unless the machine runs an older system or you specifically need the smallest footprint.
- Can I install two generations side by side?
- No. The suites share components and will not coexist.
- Is the archive worth the size?
- If you build more than one machine, yes. For a single install, the individual generation package is smaller.
