About this release
Overview
SolidWorks builds parts from a history of features. A sketch becomes an extrusion, a fillet rounds an edge, a pattern repeats a hole, and every one of those steps stays editable. Go back six features, change a dimension, and everything downstream rebuilds. That history is what makes design changes survivable on a part that has been through fifteen revisions.
Assemblies are the second half. Mates constrain components against each other, the motion left over can be dragged to check clearance and travel, and interference detection finds where two parts occupy the same space. Configurations hold variants of a part or an assembly in one file, and design tables drive those variants from a spreadsheet, which is how a family of sizes is maintained without twenty separate files.
The premium tier is what this listing covers. On top of the standard modelling it adds routing for pipe, tube, electrical and duct runs, motion analysis for real kinematics and forces, structural simulation beyond the basic study type, tolerance analysis, reverse engineering from scanned mesh data, and the full sheet metal and weldment environments with automatic flat patterns and cut lists.

Hold every variant of a part or assembly in one file, driven from a table so a size family is maintained in one place.
Sheet metal and weldments
Model in the folded state and get a correct flat pattern with bend allowances, or build a frame from structural members with an automatic cut list.
Simulation and motion analysis
Stress, displacement, factor of safety and kinematic studies inside the modelling environment rather than as a separate export.
Drawings tied to the model
Views, sections, details, dimensions, tolerances and bills of material that update when the model changes, with standards compliant output.

Installation
Follow these in order
- Go offline and stay offline for the whole process.
- Extract the archive to a drive with at least 60 GB free, this is a very large package.
- Disable real time protection.
- Run the setup manager as administrator and choose an individual install with the add-ins you need.
- Point the serial and licence step at the included configuration when prompted.
- Complete the install, reboot, launch SolidWorks once, then re-enable protection.

From whoever packed it
- Check the archive hash before extracting. At this size a partial download is common and fails halfway through setup.
- A certified graphics driver matters more here than in almost any other package. Use the workstation driver if your card has one.
- Do not let the background licensing service start automatically. Set it to manual after install.

Questions about this release
Answered before you ask
- Can it open files from a newer version?
- No. SolidWorks files are strictly forward only. A newer file needs a neutral format export.
- Is simulation included?
- The premium tier includes the simulation and motion analysis add-ins. Enable them from the add-in manager.
- Does it need a network licence server?
- Not in this configuration. It runs standalone with no server on the network.
