About this release
Overview
A VPN client does two related things. It encrypts the connection between your machine and a server it runs, so the traffic between the two cannot be read by whatever network you are sitting on, and it makes your traffic appear to come from that server's location rather than your own. AMAN VPN is a simple client built around those two functions, with a location list and a single connect button rather than a wall of settings, aimed at people who want the result without configuring anything.
The encrypted tunnel is the security half. On an untrusted network, a public connection at a cafe, an airport or a hotel, everything between your machine and the server is wrapped so the local network sees only an encrypted stream rather than the sites and services you are using. The client handles the tunnel setup automatically, reconnecting if the connection drops, so it stays on without needing attention.
The location list is the other half. Choosing a server in a different place makes traffic appear to originate there, which is what people use to reach a service as though from another region. This build has the premium tier unlocked, which removes the restricted free server list and the speed cap, so the full set of locations is available and the connection runs at the line's own speed rather than a throttled one. It connects with one click and runs quietly in the tray.
What it does
Feature breakdown
Encrypted tunnel
Wraps the connection between the machine and the server so an untrusted local network sees only an encrypted stream.
Multiple server locations
Choose a server elsewhere so traffic appears to originate from that location.
Premium server list unlocked
The full set of locations rather than the restricted free selection, available in this build.
No speed cap
The throttling of the free tier is removed, so the connection runs at the line's own speed.
One click connect
A single button to connect, with automatic reconnection if the tunnel drops.
Runs quietly in the tray
Stays connected in the background without needing attention once it is on.
Changed in this build
Version 2.3.2
- Additional server locations added to the unlocked list.
- Improved reconnection reliability on unstable networks.
- Reduced connection setup time.
- Lower idle resource use in the background.
- Refreshed interface and several translations.
Installation
Follow these in order
- Extract the archive.
- Disable real time protection while the licensed component is applied.
- Run the installer and complete setup, allowing the network adapter it installs.
- Apply the included unlock before the first launch.
- Start the client, confirm the full server list and no speed cap, then re-enable protection.
- Connect to a location and verify the tunnel is up.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- The client installs a virtual network adapter. Allow it, or the tunnel cannot be established.
- Block the update check so the premium unlock is not reverted.
- If a connection drops and does not recover, reconnect manually and the tunnel re-establishes.
