Version 8.3.1.2537 · Bandicam Company · Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 · ranked #136 in the library

About this release

Overview

Bandicam records what happens on the screen, and its reputation is for doing it efficiently. By handing the encoding to the GPU rather than the processor, it captures high frame rate footage while leaving enough headroom that the thing being recorded, a game, a demanding application, a full screen video, keeps running smoothly. A recorder that turns the machine into a slideshow is useless, and avoiding that is Bandicam's whole selling point.

It offers three capture modes for different jobs. Screen mode records a region or a full display, which suits software tutorials and presentations. Game mode hooks the graphics layer directly for the cleanest, highest frame rate capture of full screen applications. Device mode records an incoming signal from a capture card or a webcam. Each is aimed at a different situation, and switching between them is a click.

Around the capture itself are the features a recording session actually needs: microphone and system audio recorded together or on separate tracks, a webcam overlay for a picture in picture, on screen drawing and text while recording, a mouse click and cursor highlight for tutorials, and scheduled recording for capturing something that happens while you are away. This build removes the watermark and the time limit that the trial imposes.

What it does

Feature breakdown

Hardware accelerated capture

Encoding handed to the GPU so high frame rate recording leaves headroom for the application being recorded.

Screen, game and device modes

A region or display, a direct graphics hook for full screen applications, or an incoming signal from a capture card or webcam.

Separate audio tracks

Microphone and system audio recorded together or as separate tracks for editing later.

Webcam overlay and annotation

A picture in picture webcam and live on screen drawing and text while recording.

Cursor and click effects

Highlight the cursor and show mouse clicks, which makes software tutorials readable.

Scheduled recording

Start and stop a recording on a schedule to capture something that happens while you are away.

Changed in this build

Version 8.3.1.2537

  • Improved hardware encoding support on recent GPUs.
  • Reduced processor overhead in game mode on high frame rate captures.
  • Better handling of variable refresh rate displays.
  • Added output presets aimed at common upload targets.
  • Fixed audio drift on very long recordings.

Installation

Follow these in order

  1. Extract the archive.
  2. Disable real time protection while the licensed component is applied.
  3. Run the installer and complete setup.
  4. Apply the included activation before the first launch.
  5. Start Bandicam, confirm the watermark and time limit are gone, then re-enable protection.
  6. Set the output folder to a fast drive with plenty of space.
Expect a detection. Anything that changes how a program checks its licence is classified as a risk tool by every scanning engine, which is why the steps ask you to pause protection. If that is not something you want to do, this is not the right download for you.

Release notes

From whoever packed it

  • Block the update check so the activation is not reverted.
  • Record to a different drive from the source application for the smoothest capture.
  • Choose a hardware encoder in the settings if the GPU offers one. Software encoding is the slow fallback.
