CorelDRAW Technical Suite 2026

Version 27.1.0.129 · Corel Corporation · Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) · ranked #184 in the library

The illustration package for people who document machinery rather than design posters, with CAD file import, isometric drawing aids, callout tooling and a publishing path that takes an assembly drawing all the way to an interactive parts manual.

About this release

Overview

Technical Suite is a different animal to the general graphics suite it shares a name with. The drawing engine underneath is the same vector core, but everything layered on top is aimed at technical documentation: assembly diagrams, exploded views, wiring schematics, maintenance instructions and illustrated parts catalogues. The tools you reach for are dimension lines, callouts, projected drawing planes and data-linked labels rather than mesh fills and artistic media.

It ingests engineering data rather than asking you to redraw it. DWG, DXF, DGN, STEP, IGES and 3D PDF all import, and the 3D model importer creates a live view you can orient, section and then publish out as clean vector line art with hidden lines removed. When the model changes, the illustration updates from the new source rather than being redrawn from scratch, which is the whole argument for using this instead of tracing screenshots in a general purpose editor.

The suite bundles the illustration application, a dedicated 3D publishing module, a raster editor for the photographs that end up in a manual, a font manager and an image tracing tool. Output covers everything a documentation department needs: print-ready PDF with layers preserved, WebCGM and SVG for interactive viewers, and S1000D and DITA compatible publishing so illustrations drop into a structured content system without conversion work.

What it does

Feature breakdown

CAD and 3D model import

DWG, DXF, DGN, STEP, IGES, JT and 3D PDF come in with layers, line weights and block structure intact. Orient a model, hide what you do not need, and publish the view as editable vector geometry.

Isometric and projected drawing

Draw directly onto a projected plane with snapping and dimensioning that understands the projection, rather than skewing flat shapes and hoping the angles look right.

Callouts and data-linked labels

Numbered callouts that renumber automatically when the order changes, leader lines that stay attached through edits, and labels driven from an external parts table so a part number change propagates everywhere.

Exploded view tooling

Pull an assembly apart along defined axes with trail lines generated automatically, then adjust spacing per component without breaking the alignment of the rest.

Structured publishing output

WebCGM, SVG, layered PDF and S1000D compatible packages, with hotspot regions carried through so an interactive parts catalogue works straight out of the export.

Bundled raster editor and font manager

Photo retouching for the images that accompany line art, plus font collection management so a documentation set keeps one consistent typeface list across every drawing.

Changed in this build

Version 27.1.0.129

  • 3D import module rebuilt with faster hidden line removal on assemblies above ten thousand components.
  • Callout renumbering now handles multiple independent numbering sequences in one drawing.
  • New symbol libraries covering hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematic conventions.
  • Data-linked labels can now pull from a spreadsheet as well as the internal parts table.
  • Export presets reorganised by delivery target rather than by file format.

Installation

Follow these in order

  1. Disconnect from the network before starting setup.
  2. Extract the archive to a drive with at least 20 GB free.
  3. Pause real time protection for the duration of the install.
  4. Run setup as administrator and select the components and languages you need.
  5. Let the installer finish completely and close it without launching the application.
  6. Open the suite once to build the font cache, then restore protection.
Expect a detection. Anything that changes how a program checks its licence is classified as a risk tool by every scanning engine, which is why the steps ask you to pause protection. If that is not something you want to do, this is not the right download for you.

Release notes

From whoever packed it

  • The 3D publishing module is a separate application in the same install. Both are activated by the same step.
  • Updater and telemetry components are removed. The suite never checks for a newer build.
  • Uninstall any earlier Technical Suite before installing. Shared workspace folders cause layout corruption otherwise.

Questions about this release

Answered before you ask

Can it replace a CAD package?
No, and it is not meant to. It consumes CAD data and turns it into documentation. Modelling still happens upstream.
Does the general graphics suite include these tools?
No. The technical drawing, callout and structured publishing tools only exist in this edition.
Will imported drawings stay linked to the source?
Yes. Re-importing an updated model refreshes the illustration rather than requiring a redraw.
