About this release
Overview
DiskGenius covers the whole surface of disk work in one window. On the management side it creates, deletes, resizes, moves, splits, merges, formats and converts partitions, handles both partition table styles, converts between them without data loss, and rebuilds a broken boot configuration. On the recovery side it scans for lost partitions, recovers deleted files, and reads data off a file system that Windows has already given up on.
The recovery tooling is the reason it earns a place on a technician's stick. A deep scan reconstructs the file system from the raw sectors and shows a browsable tree of what it found, with previews so you can confirm a file is intact before restoring it. It reads NTFS, FAT, exFAT and the common Linux file systems, and it works on drives that will not mount, on formatted partitions and on drives with a damaged partition table.
Around that sits the imaging and cloning layer. Clone a disk or a partition sector by sector or intelligently skipping free space, migrate a system to a new drive and keep it bootable, create and restore images, and build bootable rescue media so all of it can be done with the target system offline. Sector editing, bad sector scanning with repair attempts, secure wiping and drive health monitoring round it out.

Installation
Follow these in order
- Extract the archive and pause real time protection.
- Run the installer as administrator, it needs driver level access to storage devices.
- Apply the included activation before first launch.
- Start the application and confirm the professional feature set is available.
- Build a bootable rescue stick immediately, before you need one.
- Restore protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- Never recover files onto the same drive you are recovering from. Writing to it destroys what has not been read yet.
- Stop using a drive the moment you realise data is missing. Every write reduces what can be recovered.
- Partition operations on a system drive require a restart to complete. Do not interrupt that restart.

Answered before you ask
- Can it recover from a formatted drive?
- Often, yes, provided the drive has not been written to since. A quick format leaves most data intact.
- Does it work on a drive Windows will not mount?
- That is the main use case. It reads at the sector level and does not depend on the operating system mounting anything.
- Is the bootable media build separate?
- No, it is inside the application. It writes a stick that carries the full program.
