About this release
Overview
iTop VPN is a desktop client that builds an encrypted tunnel between your machine and one of its servers. Everything that leaves the network adapter goes through that tunnel, which means the address that websites, trackers and network operators see belongs to the server rather than to your line. Connect, pick a location, and the change is immediate across every application, not just the browser.
The server list is the part most people judge it on. Locations are grouped by what they are actually useful for rather than by a flat country list, so there are separate groups for general browsing, for streaming platforms, for downloading and for gaming, each pointed at servers configured for that traffic pattern. A latency figure and a load percentage sit next to every entry, which is enough information to pick a working server without cycling through six of them.
Around the tunnel sit the things that make it safe to leave running. A kill switch cuts the adapter entirely if the tunnel drops, so nothing leaks out on the raw connection during the reconnect. Split tunnelling lets you name applications that should bypass the tunnel, which matters for a banking site that objects to a foreign address or a local network share that stops resolving. The Pro tier in this build removes the daily data allowance, the connection timer and the server restrictions that the free client applies.

Full device tunnelling
Every application on the machine goes through the tunnel, not just browser traffic, with the adapter reconfigured at the system level rather than through a proxy setting.
Grouped server list
Servers organised by intended use with live latency and load figures, so picking a working location is one decision rather than trial and error.
Kill switch
If the tunnel drops the network adapter is blocked until it comes back, which stops traffic falling through to the unprotected connection during a reconnect.
Split tunnelling
Name the applications that should bypass the tunnel and leave everything else inside it, which keeps local resources and address sensitive services working.
Protocol selection
Choose between the available tunnelling protocols per connection, trading throughput against how well the traffic survives a restrictive network.
Browser and DNS privacy tools
Clears browsing traces, blocks tracking requests and forces DNS resolution through the tunnel so lookups do not leak to the local resolver.

Installation
Follow these in order
- Uninstall any previous iTop VPN build and reboot so the old virtual adapter is removed.
- Extract the archive to a local folder.
- Disable real time protection, the activation component is flagged by most engines.
- Run the installer as administrator and allow the virtual network adapter driver when Windows asks.
- Do not launch the client yet. Run the included activation step first.
- Start iTop VPN, confirm the Pro state on the account panel, then re-enable protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- The client installs a virtual network adapter. If a connection fails immediately, reinstalling the adapter from the settings panel usually fixes it.
- Leave automatic updates off. An update replaces the unlocked components and returns the client to the free tier.
- Turn the kill switch on before you rely on it. It is not enabled by default in a fresh install.

Answered before you ask
- Does the Pro build still limit data?
- No. The daily allowance and the session timer from the free client are both removed in this build.
- Will it work on a corporate or campus network?
- Sometimes. Switch protocols if the default is blocked, since some networks filter one and pass another.
- Can I keep one application off the tunnel?
- Yes, add it to the split tunnelling list and its traffic goes out on the normal connection.
