Marvelous Designer Enterprise
Version 2026.0.315 · CLO Virtual Fashion · Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) · ranked #206 in the library
Garment creation driven by real sewing patterns and cloth simulation, so clothing is drafted flat, stitched around an avatar and draped by physics rather than sculpted vertex by vertex.

About this release
Overview
Marvelous Designer builds clothing the way clothing is actually made. You draft flat pattern pieces in a two dimensional window, define seam lines between their edges, and the simulation stitches them around an avatar and lets gravity, fabric weight and collision do the rest. The result drapes correctly because the geometry came from a pattern rather than being pushed into shape by hand, and folds land where the cut puts them.
The fabric model is physical rather than cosmetic. Weight, stretch in both directions, shear, bending stiffness, friction and thickness are all parameters, and presets cover the common material families from heavy denim through wool suiting to chiffon and knitwear. Change the fabric on a finished garment and the drape changes accordingly without touching the pattern. Buttons, zips, elastic, pleats, darts, topstitching and internal linings are all built as real construction elements.
It is used across three industries that want different things from it. Film and game artists want high quality drape they can retopologise and export with UV layouts intact. Fashion studios want a pattern that can be exported flat and cut. Visual effects teams want animated cloth that responds to a moving character, which the simulation handles with motion capture input and recorded animation caches. The Enterprise tier includes the automation and scripting interface for pipeline work alongside the full avatar and fabric libraries.
What it does
Feature breakdown
Pattern based garment construction
Draft flat pieces, define seams between edges and let the simulation stitch and drape them around an avatar. Editing the pattern updates the garment immediately.
Physical fabric parameters
Weight, two directional stretch, shear, bending, friction and thickness with presets for the common material families, changeable on a finished garment without redoing the pattern.
Real construction elements
Buttons, buttonholes, zips, elastic, pleats, darts, gathers, topstitching, internal linings and interfacing built as actual construction rather than modelled decoration.
Animated cloth simulation
Drape on a moving avatar using imported animation or motion capture, with the result cached out for use in a render or a game engine.
Retopology and export
Export the simulated garment as clean geometry with UV layouts derived from the pattern pieces, which is why texturing a simulated garment is straightforward.
Scripting and automation
The Enterprise tier exposes a scripting interface for batch simulation, automated fabric variation and pipeline integration on large productions.
Changed in this build
Version 2026.0.315
- Simulation solver improved for faster convergence on multi-layer garments with heavy fabrics.
- Additional fabric presets added covering technical and performance materials.
- Avatar library expanded with more body shapes and a more flexible sizing system.
- Retopology output improved with cleaner edge flow around seams and darts.
- Scripting interface extended with batch fabric variation and automated export routines.
Installation
Follow these in order
- Disconnect from the network before running setup.
- Extract the archive to a drive with at least 15 GB free.
- Pause real time protection until installation and activation are complete.
- Run setup as administrator and select the avatar and fabric libraries you want installed.
- Close the installer rather than launching from the final screen.
- Open the application once to confirm activation, then restore protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- Simulation quality is set by particle distance. Draft at a coarse setting and only refine for the final pass.
- Animation caches grow large quickly. Point the cache folder at a drive with room.
- The licensing and account components are removed. Nothing runs at startup.
System requirements
Minimum and recommended
| Operating system | Windows 10 version 22H2 or Windows 11, 64-bit only |
|---|---|
| Processor | Quad core 3 GHz or better, more cores speed up simulation directly |
| Memory | 16 GB minimum, 32 GB recommended for multi-layer garments and animation |
| Graphics | GPU with 4 GB VRAM minimum, 8 GB recommended for high particle density simulation |
| Storage | 8 GB for installation plus room for simulation caches |
Questions about this release
Answered before you ask
- Can the patterns be used for real garments?
- Yes. Pattern pieces export flat with seam allowances, which is why fashion studios use it alongside film and game work.
- Does it export to other three dimensional applications?
- Yes, through the standard mesh interchange formats with UV layouts and material assignments preserved.
- What does the Enterprise tier add?
- The scripting and automation interface plus the complete avatar and fabric libraries.
