About this release
Overview
Mastercam takes a model and produces the code a machine tool runs. The workflow is model, stock definition, tool selection, toolpath strategy, simulation, post. What it is known for is the breadth of the toolpath library and the amount of control exposed inside each strategy, which is what a programmer needs when the theoretical path and the path that actually works on a specific machine with a specific fixture are not the same thing.
The dynamic motion strategies are the headline. Rather than stepping down in constant depth increments, they maintain constant material engagement with the tool, using the full flute length and adjusting the feed continuously. In practice this means much deeper cuts, longer tool life and considerably shorter cycle times on roughing, which is where most of the time in a job sits.
Coverage spans milling from two axis through full simultaneous five axis, turning, mill-turn on multi-spindle machines, wire electrical discharge machining and router work. Verification simulates the full machine including the fixture and the holder so a collision is caught on screen rather than on the floor, and the post processor library covers a wide range of controllers with the post editing environment available for anything that needs adjustment.

Installation
Follow these in order
- Take the machine off the network before starting.
- Extract the archive to a drive with at least 70 GB free.
- Pause real time protection for the whole process.
- Install the application, then the post library, then any machine definition packs.
- Apply the included activation before launching.
- Open the application, load a sample part, and confirm a toolpath calculates before restoring protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- Always verify a post against the actual machine on a dry run before cutting. A post that is close but not exact will still crash a machine.
- The licensing service must not be updated afterwards.
- Machine definition and control definition files are separate from the post. All three need to match for correct output.
