Office Tool Plus
Version 11.6.6.0 · Yerong · Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 / 11 (64-bit) · ranked #74 in the library
A front end for the office deployment engine that turns a set of buried command line switches into a set of checkboxes, so downloading, installing, configuring and licensing the office suite becomes a task anyone can drive.
Read the installation section below before you start. The order of the steps matters on this release.
About this release
Overview
Office Tool Plus is a graphical front end for the deployment machinery the office suite already uses. Underneath, the suite is installed and configured through a command line tool and an XML configuration file that almost nobody writes by hand. This wraps all of that in a window: you tick the applications you want, choose the channel, the architecture and the languages, and it builds the configuration and drives the install for you.
That makes it the tool of choice for a clean, controlled office install. You can add or remove individual applications from an existing install without touching the rest, switch a machine from one update channel to another, download the installation files once and reuse them across several machines, and manage the licensing state from the same window. Everything it does is done through the official plumbing, so the result is a standard install rather than a repackaged one.
It runs portable and asks for nothing but administrator rights. It is genuinely the cleanest way to get exactly the office configuration you want rather than the everything install a stock setup produces. This package is the current release with the deployment, configuration and licensing panels all present.
What it does
Feature breakdown
Graphical deployment
The office command line and configuration file wrapped in checkboxes, so a controlled install is a matter of ticking what you want.
Add and remove applications
Change the installed application set without reinstalling the whole suite or touching the rest of it.
Channel and architecture control
Choose the update channel, the architecture and the languages, and switch an existing install between channels.
Download once, reuse
Pull the installation files a single time and install from them across several machines.
Licensing management
Read and manage the licensing state from the same window rather than a separate tool.
Portable
Runs from a folder with nothing installed and nothing left behind.
