About this release
Overview
Origin is a worksheet driven analysis environment rather than a spreadsheet with charts bolted on. Data lands in columns that carry units, comments and a designation saying whether the column is an independent variable, a dependent one or an error bar, and every analysis and every graph reads that structure. That single decision is why a plot built from a worksheet knows what its axes are called before you touch a dialog, and why re-importing a new run rebuilds the entire downstream chain without a single manual step.
The analysis coverage is the reason it stays installed in a group that could otherwise get by with a generic tool. Linear, polynomial, multiple and nonlinear curve fitting with a large built in function library and a fitting function builder for your own models, peak analysis with baseline detection and deconvolution of overlapping peaks, descriptive and inferential statistics, ANOVA, survival analysis, principal component analysis, FFT and filtering, wavelet transforms, smoothing, interpolation, integration and differentiation. The professional tier adds the heavier statistics and the whole batch processing side, which is what this listing covers.
Publication output is the other half. Every element of a graph is an object with properties, so line weights, tick direction, font sizing, axis breaks, log scales, secondary axes, insets and stacked panels are all controlled rather than approximated. Templates and themes carry a house style across every figure in a paper or a report, and export goes out as vector EPS, PDF, EMF and SVG at whatever resolution the destination demands. Once a template exists, the next dataset produces a matching figure in one action.

Installation
Follow these in order
- Disconnect from the network before you begin.
- Extract the archive to a local drive rather than a network share.
- Disable real time protection for the duration of the install.
- Run setup as administrator and choose the single user install rather than the concurrent network option.
- Let the installer finish and close it without launching the application from the final screen.
- Open Origin once, confirm the title bar reports the professional tier, then re-enable protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- Choose the single user installation type. The concurrent network option expects a licence server that is not present here.
- Projects saved in this release open in it and in later ones. Older builds may not read the newer project format.
- The apps gallery pulls from an online catalogue. The bundled apps work offline, anything else in the gallery does not.
