Revo Uninstaller Pro
Version 5.5.2 · VS Revo Group · Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 · ranked #49 in the library
An uninstaller that runs the program's own removal first and then hunts down everything it left behind, with an install monitor that records exactly what an application touched on the way in.
Read the installation section below before you start. The order of the steps matters on this release.
About this release
Overview
Most uninstallers do half the job. The application's own removal routine takes out the files it remembers and leaves the rest: configuration folders, registry keys, scheduled tasks, service registrations, shell extensions and cached data spread across three or four locations. Revo runs that routine first, then scans for the leftovers by name and by path, shows you what it found in a tree, and removes only what you confirm.
The scan has three depths. Safe covers the obvious locations, moderate adds a broader search across common paths, and advanced does a full sweep that finds almost everything at the cost of returning some entries that belong to other software. The results are shown before deletion with anything risky unticked by default, and a system restore point is created before the removal step so a mistake is recoverable.
The install monitor is the feature worth setting up before you need it. Start it, install the application, and it records every file and registry change made during the installation. Removal later then becomes exact rather than approximate, because the tool knows precisely what arrived and when. For anyone who installs a lot of software to try it out, this turns an accumulating mess into something reversible.
What it does
Feature breakdown
Two stage uninstall
The program's own removal routine runs first, then a scan finds and clears the files, folders and registry entries it left behind.
Three scan depths
Safe, moderate and advanced modes trading thoroughness against the chance of flagging something that belongs to other software.
Real time install monitor
Record every change an installation makes so its later removal is exact rather than a search by name.
Forced uninstall
Remove software whose own uninstaller is missing or broken by pointing the tool at the installation folder or the leftover entry.
Bundled cleanup tools
Startup manager, junk file cleaner, browser extension manager, history cleaner and an unrecoverable delete function in the same window.
Portable build
Run from a stick without installing, for cleaning up a machine you do not intend to leave software on.
Changed in this build
Version 5.5.2
- Leftover detection improved for applications that install components under multiple vendor folder names.
- Install monitor now handles installers that spawn a separate elevated process, which previously escaped logging.
- Faster scan on machines with very large registries.
- Batch uninstall reworked so a failure on one application no longer halts the queue.
- Several interface translations refreshed and the results tree made sortable by location.
Installation
Follow these in order
- Extract the archive.
- Disable real time protection for the licensing step.
- Run the installer and complete setup without launching the application.
- Apply the included licensing step as described in the readme.
- Open the application and confirm the professional features are present.
- Restore protection and, if you plan to use the install monitor, enable it before installing anything else.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- Let it create the restore point when it offers. The advanced scan occasionally flags a shared component.
- Review the results tree before confirming. Anything unticked by default was unticked for a reason.
- The portable build in the archive does not include the install monitor, which needs a driver that only the installed version registers.

Questions about this release
Answered before you ask
- Is the advanced scan safe?
- Generally yes, but read the results. It can list entries belonging to other software from the same vendor.
- Can it remove something that will not uninstall?
- Yes, that is what the forced uninstall mode is for. Point it at the folder and it removes what it finds.
- Does the install monitor slow the machine?
- Only while it is actively recording an installation. It is idle the rest of the time.
