About this release
Overview
STAAD.Pro is a general purpose structural analysis package used on buildings, plants, bridges, towers, pipe racks and offshore structures. You build a model out of nodes, beams, plates and solid elements, assign sections and materials, apply loads, define combinations, run the analysis and then run code checks against the design standard the project is being built to. The whole cycle happens in one environment rather than being split across a modeller, a solver and a separate checking tool.
The analysis engine covers first order static, P-delta and full geometric nonlinear cases, buckling, dynamic response including modal, response spectrum and time history, cable and tension-only members, and staged construction. Meshing tools handle plate and shell surfaces, and solid elements are available where a foundation or a thick element needs proper three dimensional treatment. Solver performance on large models is the practical reason it stays in service on plant projects with tens of thousands of members.
Design code coverage is the other reason. Steel, concrete, timber, aluminium and cold-formed sections can all be checked against a long list of international and national codes, and the code list in this build is complete rather than trimmed to one region. Load generation for wind, seismic, snow and moving loads follows the same code selection, so a model set up for one standard can be re-checked against another without rebuilding the geometry.

Wind, seismic, snow, temperature and moving load generators, plus automatic combination generation following the code being used rather than typed in one at a time.
Results presentation
Deflected shapes, force and moment diagrams, stress contours on plates, mode shape animation and utilisation ratios rendered on the model with a colour scale.
Report builder
Assemble input data, analysis results, code check summaries and diagrams into a formatted document that regenerates when the model is rerun.

Installation
Follow these in order
- Disconnect from the network before running the installer.
- Extract the archive to a drive with at least 30 GB free.
- Disable real time protection until the install and activation are both complete.
- Run setup as administrator and accept the default component selection unless you need to trim it.
- Let the prerequisite runtimes install when prompted, they are required by the solver.
- Launch once, confirm the licence panel is absent, then restore protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- The connection client and licensing service are removed. Nothing calls out and nothing runs at startup.
- Solver scratch files on large models can reach several gigabytes. Point the working directory at a fast drive.
- Interface language is English only in this build. The design codes themselves cover every supported region.

- Are all the design codes included?
- Yes. The code library is complete rather than restricted to one region, so a model can be checked against several standards.
- Can it read models from other analysis tools?
- Yes, through the neutral import formats. Section mapping is set once and remembered for later imports.
- Does it need a connection to run analysis?
- No. Everything runs locally including code checking and report generation.
