About this release
Overview
TeamViewer solves the problem of reaching a machine you cannot configure the network for. Both ends run the same application, the connection negotiates through whatever routers and firewalls sit in the way without port forwarding or a tunnel, and a session opens in seconds. That is why it became the default answer for supporting a relative's computer, a machine in a different office, or a server rack you do not have a console for.
A session is more than a screen view. File transfer runs both directions with a two pane browser, the clipboard is shared, multiple monitors on the remote machine are handled with individual selection or a combined view, remote printing sends a document to your local printer, and a session recording captures everything for documentation. Quality and colour depth adapt to the available bandwidth, so a session over a poor connection stays usable rather than dropping.
Unattended access is the other half. A machine configured for it accepts connections without anyone present, which covers servers, kiosks, workshop machines and home computers you want to reach while travelling. Access is controlled per device with individual credentials, sessions can require confirmation from the remote side, and a connection log records every session. This build has the commercial use restriction removed, so sessions do not get cut short or blocked after repeated use.
What it does
Feature breakdown
Connects through firewalls and routers
No port forwarding, no tunnel and no network configuration at either end. Both machines run the application and the connection negotiates itself.
Full session toolset
Two pane file transfer, shared clipboard, remote printing to your local printer, session recording, chat and a whiteboard overlay for pointing at things.
Multi-monitor handling
Remote machines with several displays can be viewed one at a time or combined, with a monitor selector in the session toolbar.
Unattended access
Configure a device to accept connections with nobody present, controlled by per-device credentials and an access list rather than a shared password.
Adaptive quality
Colour depth, resolution and compression adjust to the available bandwidth, keeping a session responsive over a poor connection.
Portable operation
A run once build for the remote end needs no installation and no administrator rights, which matters when you are talking someone through it by telephone.
Changed in this build
Version 15.80.6
- Connection negotiation improved on networks with restrictive outbound filtering.
- File transfer throughput increased on high latency links.
- Multi-monitor selector redesigned with a live thumbnail of each remote display.
- Session recording rewritten to produce smaller files at the same visual quality.
- Reduced memory use during long unattended sessions.
Installation
Follow these in order
- Extract the archive to any folder.
- Pause real time protection while the modified components are written.
- Run setup as administrator and choose whether you want unattended access enabled.
- Set a strong device password if you enable unattended access.
- Note the device identifier shown in the main window, that is what the other end connects to.
- Test a session both directions before relying on it, then restore protection.
Release notes
From whoever packed it
- The commercial use detection is removed in this build, so sessions are not cut short after repeated use.
- A portable run once build is included for the remote end when the user cannot install anything.
- If you enable unattended access, use a long device password. It is the only thing standing between the machine and anyone with the identifier.

Questions about this release
Answered before you ask
- Does the other end need to install it?
- No. The portable build in the archive runs without installation or administrator rights.
- Will sessions be cut off as commercial use?
- No. That detection is removed in this build.
- Can I reach a machine that is switched off?
- No. Unattended access needs the machine powered on with the service running.
